Rush at the Gorge

My wife and I went and saw Rush at the Gorge Amphitheater in Eastern Washington 7/2/11, which was the last stop on their tour.  I've always wanted to see them, but never got around to it.  Normally, I am not up for large rock shows (especially for $50 a ticket), but I'll make an exception for these guys.  They did not disappoint, and the venue was great.  They even played their Moving Pictures album in its entirety.

For musicians pushing 60, it's amazing that they can still keep up after all these years (especially the drummer Neil Peart--his drum solo alone was worth going).  The guitarist Alex Lifeson was also great.  One thing I liked to see was the fact that Geddy Lee did not try to sing like he was 30 years younger.  Voices change over time.  They may have played songs from as far back as 1967, but Geddy at least did not try to sing like it.  His bass and keyboard playing were still phenomenal.

Overall, assuming they tour again, if you like their music at all, its definitely worth seeing.  They're certainly not "has-beens."
