Bankruptcy (A Word From God) #5

Bankruptcy (A Word From God) #5 is the 7th Track of The Hippo Tumor Mixes. It was originally recorded in early 2001 and remixed with a track called "Interlude" in later 2005. Although somewhat dated, it still applies if you own nothing.

Spoken: SRL & Cap't Lightning
Music: Capt'n Lightning & SRL

Jihad Swing (Hammer Version)

Jihad Swing was written in 2000 at about 3:00 AM after a night of drinking and listening to lame bands. It's even more timely than it was then, which causes us to ask: how could you not see it coming?

Jihad Swing (Hammer Version) was recorded on a two track stereo in January 2001 about a week later while Pat "the Warden" pounded on some shelves in the gun room with a hammer. It was remixed in December 2005.

Capt'n Lightning: Bass, Vocals
Pat "The Warden": Hammer
SRL: Everything Else.

The Wall (Take 2)

Track 9, recorded on a 2 track stereo in September 2000, of The Hippo Tumor Mixes features a solo effort by Cap't Lightning called The Wall (Take 2).

The Capt'n would like to convey this sincere hatred of academia, but that's not what this song is about. Give it a listen.

Killing Birds #1G

Killing Birds #1 was the first time we ever played the song in early 2001. The later versions were too cheezy. Killing Birds #1G is a remix of the original recorded on a 2 track stereo. It took the longest to perfect (if you can call it that). The tape had many flaws, but I kept up with it. It was my favorite to play.

Cap't Lightning: Vocals, Bass, Programing
SRL: Backing Vocals, C Harmonica, Everything Else

Bang, Bang #2A

Track #3 of The Hippo Tumor Mixes.

The original of Bang, Bang #2A was recorded in October, 2000 on a 2-track tape deck by Cap't Lightning, SRL & Haj after being profile stopped in Lynnwood, WA. (They left us alone after we showed our concealed pistol licenses.)

Cap't Lightning: Vocals, Bass
Haj: Guitar
SRL: Percussion, Backing Vocals

(An unmodified version, which is Track #10, will be released at a later date.)

THE MUSHROOM WARRIORS: F.T.L.

DRUNK AND ARMED is coming soon but meanwhile, here's a bonus MP3 called F.T.L. by THE MUSHROOM WARRIORS. (It's probably not too difficult to figure out why this one and only spontaneous session was called thus.)

Featuring: Gene F. on drums, Pete F. on keyboard, SRL on ranting; and everyone on chemicals. It was SRL’s very first musical creation. Recorded on a dictation recorder (which explains the skip), Summer 1996, Somewhere in Interbay, Seattle, WA.
